SUNRISE WARM (more to) COME
WARMAt last! After an unusually long and harsh winter, the warmth has returned to our world. Spring began about two weeks ago and so far the weather is warm and sunny. Temperatures of 20-24'C and sunny. The sunsets were nice too. Check this, brothers and sisters. TO COMETo come is more sunrises, sunsets and nature. Now that the overcast skies of rainy April, maybe we can salvage something from May,. So look forward to more sunny sunrises and more glorious sunsets.

Chatter and Chew
Chatter and Chewby Daniel Griffin Spring weather the past few weeks is sure re-comforting to most of us. The snow is practically all melted in Parc des pelicans. I miss watching the children sliding but the lovely sun of the past week is an acceptable tradeoff. I now can take my daily walk around the park, and listen to the chirping of the birds and the chatter of families who occupy the park during the clement time of the year. There is good news today, our dining room will

THIS IS; THAT IS.
THIS IS - Spring is really in full swing. Many of the neighbourhood birds have settled their territory and have courted and settled with their mates to build their nests. Green buds have appeared everywhere, giving the forest its light hue of green. The far-off willow has been in green bloom for about two weeks now. It is nice to see an old friend back for another season of growth. I have added another path of expression. Rock painting and more … Don’t laugh. It is quite rewa

SUNSET SWEET SEÑORA
Sunset-April 14, 2022Dateline: London, Canada. At long last, Cloud has moved aside and allowed our Sun to give us a spectacular sunset. It was touch and go for a while this PM. I thought that the same nightly scenario was repeating itself. But no, it turned out pretty good. Here, see for yourself:

SUNRISE SQUIGY SCREEN
DawnI awoke at 04:03 refreshed and ready to go for the day. Got my play clothes on and headed outside. It was still dark but the birds had been singing for about the past hour. Check it: TwilightClouds, clouds, clouds. Greeted my eyes as the light grew brighter. Worse, the clouds were travelling toward the Sun to block the sunrise. .Not another morning of disappointment. Fawking hell, mate. But wait! Yonder blows a crosswind to help push the clouds out of the sun's path HAPPY

Sunlight Chases Darkness
Crack of DawnI was awake, out of bed, dressed and onsite before Sunrise. Here is what happened. Straight from the banks of the Thames river flowing through London, the sunrise of March 10. 2022. I like the stark contrast of the bare branches reaching into the sky. Wishing, hoping, praying for humanity. Patiently waiting for the warm weather indicator to reach the bare minimum of the actual change. Let's go. Happy TrailsHappy trails to all of my friends around the world. Much

MY FIRST TIME.
My first trip to Lac St-Jean was certainly a memorable one. Mom brought me to the bus terminal on Blvd. Charest. Heading off alone was quite an adventure. During that period, all buses on that route would make a stop at L’Etape, halfway between Quebec and Alma. I was excited and happy that I would see my Grenier cousins. At l’Etape I sat with 4 woodcutters who were coming back home from a job in Western Canada. My mom had given me 5 dollars to cover my expenses during the wee

Why my Rocks Love Makeup.
My RocksMy raw rocks are not extraordinary. I find them in two key spots, and that is just in my backyard. There is a home for the bigger rocks and a home for the smaller rocks. All different shapes and kinds. The biggest was a grapefruit-sized rock. The contractors must have gotten these rocks from different quarries, as there are many rocks that would not be together. I go out and put my eyes on the rocks to pick out interesting shapes or just the shape that I need. Then I

Fire and Ice
The sunset tonight was a bit of a letdown again because of the blocking clouds. However, we did see a bit of beautiful sky. Judge for yourself. As you see, Cloud had covered the Western sky. The sunsets, the beautiful ones, are few and far between these days. After that blazing sunset we were ready for the evening and guess what? What? It had begun. Snow was falling from the sky.

post office reader
Daniel Griffin. 22-02-15. Québec, QC (images are for illustration only.) Having a Post Office in your farmhouse is certainly an asset in terms of meeting the members of the community. As a child and as a young teenager I had the opportunity and the good fortune of living this experience. This was at the Griffin house on Gosford Road in Shannon, QC. Jack Griffin would pick up the mail at Valcartier Station in the late afternoon, bring it back to the Post Office, where it would

Pondering the Pandemic
Once again there is a certain degree of optimism in the air, the numbers seem to be trending toward better times for all of us. This pandemic is more than 2 years old and many of us are losing patience. I sense that young people especially have had enough of this and that the time has come to move on. People in my age group have become shut-ins, we rarely see our close ones, in my case I can see my sons one at a time once per day. I have seen my 3 sisters, (all in Montreal) o

TO MY HEALTH
Daniel Griffin, Québec, QC. February 6, 2022. approx. 4:53 PM. Much has been said about family doctors and about their availability, especially during our pandemic times. Fortunately, I have a very special family doctor. Dr. LT has been looking after me for 3 or 4 years, she has been more than what I had hoped for. Because of the pandemic, she does most of her tasks by phone, she keeps a checklist of all the items related to my health and well-being.. Prior to yesterday's tel
