Chatter and Chew

Spring weather the past few weeks is sure re-comforting to most of us. The snow is practically all melted in Parc des pelicans. I miss watching the children sliding but the lovely sun of the past week is an acceptable tradeoff. I now can take my daily walk around the park, and listen to the chirping of the birds and the chatter of families who occupy the park during the clement time of the year.

There is good news today, our dining room will reopen on April 1, it sure is great to hear, having my lunch alone and in a cardboard box has been quite a drag, not seeing other occupants of the residence regularly is unpleasant, spending most of our time alone in one’s apartment can affect the morale. The pool room will also open in a few weeks. Spending time with the boys is a pleasant thought. My friend Joe and I will soon resume our daily routine, playing pool after lunch.

I really miss not being able to eat out once in a while. There are several places in the area where I like to eat breakfast. I look forward to such simple but immensely happy moments with family and friends. It has been more than a year since this abnormal lifestyle, and most of us are hoping, as I am, that we are not too far from the end of this state.

I can only hope that good times will be back soon. Most of us have been good citizens, we have lived by the rules and the health protocol. We deserve to get back to see our children, grandchildren, family members and friends.

Let’s get ready for the hugging season and for the good life.

Let's drink to that.
