CHAPTER 2 - THE AMBUSH
The Ambush
In addition to the hunt for a notorious gang of bank robbers, Striker was also investigating several other unsolved murders.
As part of his investigation he had traced them to a small town on the outskirts of the territory, where it was speculated that they were planning their next heist.
As Tex rode into town, his eyes were constantly searching for any sign that the outlaws were still about, as he rode into the town.
As much as he knew they would be heavily armed and dangerous, he was determined to bring them to justice, regardless of how difficult the task would be.
A shot rang out, and Tex's horse reared up in pain.
After realizing that he had been ambushed by the bank robbers, he quickly dismounted and took cover behind a nearby building.
Tex realized that the bank robbers had set a trap for him, and now he was surrounded by them.
In spite of the fact that the outlaws were closing in on him, he remained calm and focused.
In response to the first outlaw who appeared around the corner, Tex drew his revolver and fired.
The man fell down, but they did not deter the others. They continued to attack, firing at him as well.
While Tex fought back with all his skill and strength, he took out one outlaw after another, but it was inevitable that he couldn't hold on for very long.
The odds were against him, and he knew he couldn't hold on forever.
It was only when Chris, the tough saloon owner, appeared on the scene just as it seemed that all hope was lost.
In response to the commotion, he grabbed his own rifle and was ready to assist Tex.
The two men fought off the remaining outlaws together until there was only one left.
Tex confronted this last outlaw, staring him down with an intense cold stare. As Tex approached the outlaw cautiously, he took him into custody and handed him over to the sheriff.
"Drop your weapon and surrender."
The outlaw hesitated for a moment, then slowly lowered his gun.
Tex approached him with caution, taking him into custody and handing him over to the authorities.
The ambush had been foiled by Tex's quick thinking as well as the timely arrival of Chris.
But Tex knew that there were still many more outlaws out there, waiting to cause chaos and destruction.
He was more determined than ever to bring them all to justice, no matter what it took.
