LONDON, CANADA.

Rex Striker arrived in London, Canada, and was greeted by his new boss, Chief Constable Jennifer Lee.

She welcomed him warmly and drove him to his new house, which was a spacious and modern two-story building in a quiet neighborhood.

She told him that he would start his new job the next day and that she had a big case for him to work on.

“What kind of case?” Rex asked.

“A murder case,” Jennifer said. “A prominent businessman was found dead in his office yesterday.

He was stabbed multiple times and his throat was slit.

The killer left behind a note that said ‘I know what you did’.”

“Sounds intriguing,” Rex said. “Who was the victim?”

“His name was Richard Stone.

He was the CEO of Stone Industries, a multinational corporation that deals with mining, energy, and technology.

He was one of the richest and most powerful men in the country.

He had a lot of enemies, both personal and professional.”

“Do you have any suspects?”

“Not yet. We’re still investigating his background, his associates, his family, his rivals, his enemies.

Anyone who might have a motive to kill him.”

“I see. And what about the note? Do you have any idea what it means?”

“No clue. It could be a reference to something he did in the past, something he was involved in, something he knew.

It could be a personal grudge, a business dispute, a political vendetta. It could be anything.”

“Interesting. Well, I’m looking forward to working on this case with you.”

“Me too. I’m glad you’re here, Rex.

I’ve heard a lot about you and your achievements.

You’re a legend in the field of crime investigation.”

“Thank you, Jennifer. That’s very kind of you to say.

But I’m no legend. I’m just a man who loves his job and does it well.”

“That’s what makes you a legend, Rex.

You have a passion for justice and a talent for solving crimes.

You’re exactly what we need here in London.”

Jennifer smiled and parked the car in front of Rex’s house.

“Here we are,” she said. “This is your new home.”

She helped him unload his luggage and gave him the keys.

“I’ll see you tomorrow at the station,” she said.

“See you tomorrow,” Rex said.

He entered his house and looked around.

It was spacious, comfortable, and well-furnished. He felt a sense of satisfaction and excitement.

He had a new home, a new job, a new case.

He had a new life.

To be continued…
