DAFFODILS ONE

In valleys green and hills of golden wheat,The daffodils, they bloom in early spring,Their cheerful colors bright, oh how they greet,And in their beauty, hearts and souls they bring.

Their birthplace, Spain, where Moorish gardens grew,From there to gardens wide, they traveled far,The noble class in England, they knew,Their popularity rose like a star.

The poets praised them in their odes and rhymes,Their beauty, grace, and charm they did extol,For daffodils evoke the happy times,Of spring's arrival and the warming soul.

In art and literature, they found a place,Their vivid hues and lovely form did grace,From Wordsworth's famous poem to Dutch still life,They captured hearts and lifted up the life.

The daffodils, they spread across the land,In gardens, parks, and fields they did expand,Their bright display, a sight to all who see,A sign of spring's rebirth and joyous glee.

And now, in April, we honor them so,As symbol of the fight against the foe,The daffodil, a symbol of the brave,Who battle cancer and seek to save.

So let us raise our voices in acclaim,For daffodils, a flower of great fame,In history, in art, in medicine,A joy to see, a symbol of life's win.
